OUR STORY:
Back in 2012, I had completely lost my patience for mass-produced, corporate-style band method books that were too difficult, too confusing and too cluttered for myself and my students. These books were not helping any of the students I serve nor were they any fun for teaching or learning. The problem: no other books existed that met my criteria for good teaching materials.
I adopted the motto "if you want something done right, do it yourself." I sat down and created The Beginning Band Method which was to be used for my students only. Never did I imagine a business or the success that I would achieve with these books. It was about good materials not sales figures.
My co-authors and I are real public school music teachers doing the same work, in the same trenches that you are. We have a combined total of over thirty years in the classroom. We understand the frustration and are here to help! These materials reflect our teaching philosopies and pedagogical approaches for teaching instrumental music.
